My son said the roku,is just a app, is this true?

It is a device that you attach to a TV. You can buy in many places like Bets Buy, Walmart, Target, Costco, etc. The Roku allows you to stream Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Youtube, etc. It has hundreds of channels. Google Roku.

Have 2 roku devices and love them!

 

There is also a roku app that you can download to your smartphone.  It can be used instead of the remote that comes with the roku.

We have Roku devices for each of our tv's.  Last one I bought (an upgrade) I bought refurbished on the Bay.  Saved a third and it works great.
