 Gadgets fail and that may be what is wrong.  I have two Ring doorbells, the front door is hardwired, the backdoor is battery.  I also have a hard wired door bell and 2 chimes.  They create a different sound so I know which one was pressed.  You can buy a new chime at the Ring store.
