Revisit Canon customer service~ Positive post

I am BIG on great customer service. I HAD a G-9 sold to me by a camera store (what was I thinking). They failed to offer me a service contract. You guessed it, at the worst possible moment the lens fell off... would not retract. I so tried to fix it. What a mess and CANON would not give in an inch. Finally after stewing over it, I sent it in to be fixed. The bill came back... a whopping $150 estimate with an offer to buy another camera (refurbished) for almost $300. I got angry all over since I applaud most companies for being fair and I had written off CANON forever. Well the fix-it representative must have taken pity on me and took the fix price down to $120 which included shipping. He also said if there were no more parts I might get an automatic upgrade anyway. So I am hopeful and anxiously await a possible G-12.

I thought I would post this as I did comment before how terrible Canon was. I just wanted to be fair to them as I believe they are treating me fairly --- finally.
