Questions About A Magazine App On An iPad Air

I just know someone will be able to help me. I have an Allure magazine subscription. Allure sent me a notice saying I could download their app which is free with my subscription. I was wondering do you still get a hardcopy of the magazine sent to you or is the digital issue the replacement? Also you get alot of back issues which I assume takes up alot of space in your newsstand, I deleted them. How do I delete the app if I want to and how do I notify Apple so they don't automatically update the app and don't charge me for it in the future if my subscription ends? Thanks for any information you can provide me with.

Apple doesn't have anything to do with the magazine subscription. You need to contact the publisher of the magazine for any subscription issues or questions. If you want to delete the app, you press on it until it jiggles, an X will appear and you press that.

No offence but the time you spent typing this message you could have just called them or googled it....... but that would be too easy.

You are so rude. That response was uncalled for.

First of all it's Saturday and there's probably no one available to answer the phone. Secondly, I came here for advice not to be made to feel badly.

Re: Questions About A Magazine App On An iPad Air

I don't know the answer to your question about the online version replacing the hard copy. The magazines I get now, I subscribed through the app, and never previously received a hard copy in the mail. Not sure how it works if you currently get the hard copy, and download on the app. Maybe someone here knows?

For the back issues, if you want to view one you can download them. There should be a download button on the individual issue. For me, once I am done looking at an issue I delete it. This way it doesn't take up space. If I want to see it again, I can always download it again. To delete an issue, press on it until it wiggles, then delete it.

If you decide to cancel your subscription, that is done with the magazine you are subscribing too. So if you subscribe to People or Time, you would contact then individually. Apple doesn't have anything to do with your subscription service, they are just providing you with an app that works with your device.

I get INStyle magazine and download it on my ipad air and also get a copy in the mail. I always renew my magazine so I'm not sure what happens once the subscription runs out. The downloaded edition is an extra bonus I guess. I think some magazines might have a download only option but none of mine do.

Be very cautious about signing up for online mags. It's a lot easier to get them than it is to get rid of them.
