Does anyone know the name of he female singer who popularized the song "Gone too soon".

I recognized the voice when I heard it on the radio this morning, but can't figure out who the singer is.

I checked U-tube and Wikipedia, but still can't find the correct name.

There are at least three songs by that name that I know of (Daughtry, Michael Jackson and Simple Plan).  Which one are you talking about?  Not sure I know of one by a female singer.  Perhaps you could call the radio station - they would surely be able to tell you and I've always found the station staff to be helpful.

As someone stated, it was Dionne Warwick who sang it first, 1983 in memory of Janis Joplan...that is the only one I have ever heard except for Michael Jackson but other females may have sung it?

I just watched a video clip of Dionne Warwick singing it live with a screen behind her showing performers who'd "gone too soon".  Really moving.  Here's the link for anyone who wants to watch it.  Starts out with a short intro of "What the World Needs Now", so don't be fooled.

A friend uses a Shazaam app to identify songs.  I don't know if that includes the singer or not.  She just holds her phone near the speaker.
