Re: Question about picture keeper & old phone

Wouldn't it depend on exactly how it died?  Merely a bad battery?  Cracked screen?

Yes, these are correct.  If it's completely dead, you may be able to fix the charging port or change the battery and get it back to normal.  If not, it would really depend on the phone and how you set it up originally--cloud back up or not.

[ Edited ]

well I went to check my texts one day and my phone didn't turn on and was dead .    It will not turn on anymore .   It was heartbreaking to lose all my photos !   Fortunately I have some of the same on my iPad and friends and family still had some they could provide to my new phone .   But 100's are gone.   I was hoping the picture saver could somehow get them.   Oh and I did try a new battery at first thinking that was the issue,  it wasn't .

Re: Question about picture keeper & old phone

My disabled sister just got a new phone but didn't take her old one so info and pictures could be transferred. I told her to go back to her phone company and see if they can do it.

@Kitty Galore   I have read there are some software programs out there that can recover programs including photos from phones that won't turn on

It all depends on why the phone failed.  If the hard drive or SS card is the problem, your photos are gone.  If it's the power supply, there are ways to retrieve the data if you, or a tech professional, can access the data.  I had an iMac's regular hard drive fail and the cost to retrieve the data was outrageous.  You'll need a professional to determine why the phone failed.

@mrshckynut  I will look into that . Do you have any idea where I would find the software ?   If I could find  something to retrieve my photos that would be fantastic!
