Re: QUESTION RE PURCHASING A NEW TV

Also, you don't necessarily need a TV that has bluetooth wireless capability. There are wireless earplugs made for TVs that don't have that feature. Those type of earplugs come with special transmitters that get connected to the back of the TV and transmit sound through the air to the earplugs that way. @mousiegirl

@SilleeMee   This sounds good.  It is difficult to find a smaller tv, Best Buy and Costco have only 32" and up, but eventually I will find something.  I don't need anythng too technical, just want to be able to view tv and play dvds in the bedroom.

Re: QUESTION RE PURCHASING A NEW TV

If you want to listen to your new TV with earplugs then look for a TV with what is called audio output plugs. These outputs are for plugging in an extra speaker, for instance a soundbar or a home theater system, and the sound comes through the audio outlets to the extra speakers that way. But in your case the audio outlet will be used for earplugs rather than a speaker...same set up. Once you find a new TV with this audio outlet, which is not that difficult, then we can go from there. I can help if you want me to. Just let me know and I'd be happy to direct you to what you'll need to purchase to make it happen. Smiley Happy @mousiegirl

Re: QUESTION RE PURCHASING A NEW TV

If you find a TV you like with the red and white RCA audio outputs (non-digital audio out) all you need is a 3.5mm female to RCA adapter plug that looks like this to use with a headphone/earpiece.

You simply plug the white into the white plug on the TV and the red into the red plug on the TV and you've got a headphone jack all good to go. Bear in mind you may have to adjust the audio output on the TV so it sends the audio out through the RCA plugs. The adapter is under $5 at many online retailers and some retail locations. Any TV with the red and white plugs on the back should work fine in this manner.
