You can just buy wi-fi earphones and connect them to any TV that has a USB plug.

Its very difficult to find a tv now with a actual headphone jack in the back. I also watch tv at night with them. The only one I could find was a Roku Tv. BUT, most of them now you can listen to with wireless headphones. Look under settings to see if you can do it that way.

@SilleeMee It is difficult to find a tv with this input, that is my problem. If I didn't need use of an earphone, I could buy any tv with a middle pedestal, not many of those either.

Most TVs today have multiple USB plugs. All you would need is set of bluetooth headphones with a bt transmitter which gets plugged into the usb port. @mousiegirl

There is also a universal pedestal stand that you can buy to fit any brand of TV. Looks like this:
So if you buy a TV with the dual feet, you'll just remove the feet and then attach the pedestal bracket on the back of the TV. Those pedestal stands are sold according to the size of your TV.

Most people using headphones nowdays use wireless that don't require a TV input. The kind with the wires are old-fashioned. Most smaller TVs have a single pedestals. I have two, a Samsung and a Phillips.

@Kachina624 I havn't seen any Samsung except for large sets. Also, I use an ear plug, not a headphone, but it probably depends on the tv one buys whether wireless is available. I am still looking.

I think the best thing to do is go to BestBuy and ask one of the TV sales people about how to connect wireless earplugs to a TV. That way they can show you what your options are. I know what you need and how to connect the wireless earplugs to a TV but to explain it here might be a bit confusing. @mousiegirl
