~ Please install important security update/patch to iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch iOS 7 ~

Please install this important security update to iOS 7 on your iPad or iPhone or iPod Touch.

From Apple: "Impact: An attacker with a privileged network position may capture or modify data in sessions protected by SSL/TLS. This security update provides a fix for SSL connection verification. For information on the security content of this update, please visit this website: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222"

You can read about it by doing an Internet search, but here’s one article explaining the issue: Apple Issues Patch for Security Risk in iOS7 (http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2014/02/22/apple-issues-patch-for-security-risk-in-ios7/)

To find and install the patch, go to Settings--->General--->Software Update.

(iOS 7.1 is expected to roll out next month, complete with further bug fixes.)

Apple sends security updates directly to your ipad. I wouldn't trust another source, but I'm going to check right now.

PS Yes there is a security update on the Settings on my iPad.

Thanks for the alert that an update was available. Much appreciated. Just FYI, I noticed after the update it turned my Bluetooth on automatically. Did this both on the pad and the phone. I generally keep this set to off because I very rarely use it and it consumes battery when set to on. So if you don't use Bluetooth, just go to settings, and you'll see Bluetooth listed at the top. Click on it and set it to off position.

Maybe someone can help me.when I go to settings on my iPad, I go to install the patch, and it says that it can not install as I am not connected to the internet....BUT I AM! Why would it say that, and what can I do?

Did you close the setting app by double click home button, then flick up on the app? If so, did you try again and get the same message? If you did, try turning the pad off, then on, and try again. Please report back and let us know how this worked...or not.
