That's a good idea AND they will have money left over! Smiley Happy

You know, I stopped working ten years ago and, since that time, I have gotten accounts with Dell (don't shop there anymore though), Sony, and Toshiba - without working AT ALL. It takes like 2 minutes to get approved and I didn't lie about it or anything.

It's also easy, assuming one pays their bills, to get an account at places like Best Buy, etc.

Totally agree with everything said here. Right now at apple.com you can get a refurbished 4th generation iPad with retina display with 16GB of storage for $299. I have purchased a lot of refurb items and have not had any issues. And, they carry a 1 year warranty. You can also spend less ($489 to be exact) than the TSV price and get a 128GB model! I know people really like the EasyPay option, but, IMO, it isn't a great deal when the product is marked up to begin with.

In addition to the 1 year warranty, you can purchase Apple Care to extend the warranty to 3 years. For Apple Care, it is the same as if you were purchasing a brand new Apple product.

Re: Please Do Your Research First

I have watched about 3 of the presentations bc I happen to be home today. I heard Mr. Craig say one time that it was the IPad 4 when he was on earlier w/Rachel. I did a double take when he said it, bc up to that point, I hadn't heard it from him or the other guy. He said it quickly and moved on.

I, too, agree w/what others have said on here. Yes, they have IPad w/Retina display on the screen and the description online, BUT not everyone is gonna do a google search or go to apple.com to see what version that is. You would THINK people would, but in reality..and unfortunately, some just won't do it. My parents come to mind. They'd ask ME about it, and knowing my mom, she would call and ask the cust serv. person before ordering, but they have no access to internet(unless I happen to be visiting them at home). There's probably some other older folks like them(and maybe some that aren't that old) that just will not inquire before ordering. I would just hate for people to not do research only to get it and learn later on that they are getting one that is 2 yrs old. That is, of course, unless that don't MIND it being that old.

I'd love to have an Ipad Mini. However, I've always hesitated on taking the plunge bc it seems like they come out with new models so quickly. I'm one of those who'd have the mini until it wore completely out! I wouldn't want to upgrade JUST BECAUSE a newer one is out. It seems that some people do that. We have a friend who just got an iphone last year. Now, she's wanting the new, bigger one. I just can't spend $ like that!{#emotions_dlg.bored}

I agree. What they don't mention during presentations, and the manner in which they present the item as the latest and greatest technology is very deceptive. It's unfortunately that people trust everything they see and hear just because of their relationship with a shopping channel. Also agree with you in that I too am not the type of person to update as soon as the latest and greatest come out. It seems like Apple is updating the iPad and phones annually. I would love one of the new iPad airs, but honestly my iPad 4 from 2012 is working just fine (like the day I bought it) so there is really no need to get a new one. Same with my phone. I won't be updating until I need to. But, you should know that you can sell your current item, and use that money towards the purchase of the new. Apple products have a high resale market and you can get good money for a used item in good condition. Of course it's not an even trade, but if you think about depretiation costs for the time period you used the item I think it's pretty fair.
