Pandigital Wand Scanner

Hi! I bought a scanner last year. Recently I went to use it but when I put the batteries in the wand it went on as if I was scanning. Thus, I was not able to scan anything. I do not know how to fix the issue and would appreciate your advice. Thank you Joyce G
