If you are a somewhat tech-savvy person or are looking for a gift for a somewhat tech-savvy person, this might be just the thing.

Rarely do those with all their photos on their phones or tablets take the time and effort to get them quality printed via drugstore, Costco, internet, etc. and sometimes it's nice to actually have a physical photo to send people or pass around.

I bought this photo printer back in August and was happy with it then. I've been using it again the past couple of days and am still really loving it. The Sharper Image catalog sells the same printer and supplies for more money than QVC, and I've seen it on Ebay and other sites for $200-300.

I've owned two dedicated 4x6 photo printers in the past that were inkjet; this printer is dye sublimation. The photos come out looking better than drugstore quality and there is no muss, no fuss. Completely self-contained and simple photo process. And they are waterproof.

Many of the reviews on QVC make it sound like the printer is impossible. I can only think that many people didn't follow directions or were rough with assembling it, or were wifi/tech clueless. I had it up and running in 10 minutes. It's never jammed on me. It connected easily and simply to my wi-fi. No issues with the machine itself or the prints - love 'em! Have never had a single sheet of paper misfeed.

The software and instructions - in English, but meant for a tech-savvy Asian market. The icons in the app are NOT self-explanatory or very user-friendly. Some trial and error is necessary. Can be a bit frustrating to figure out how to go back and forth in the app, but I get there in the end, and the quality of the photos is so worth it!

So if you're looking for a very useful electronic toy, this might be something to think about.

I have never seen it presented on-air on QVC but there is a video.
