Our HP TSV Arrived

The HP laptop we bought on April 13 as a TSV just arrived and there was no problems with the packaging the box was heavy duty in good condition and they had thick foam padding on the corners and something protecting the screen and it was wrapped in a heavy plastic bag tapped. I'm fixing to go read the instructions on how to set it up. This is one nice laptop our first.

A passphrase or security key number is what's needed to connect to your wireless network. If you network is unsecured, you need to "lock it down" now.

The pass code or on my router is called a key code. I have AT&T internet. The key code is on a sticker on the router - the box that the internet cable is plugged into. If you have internet through your cable box, you probably need to call your cable company to find out how to find your pass code. No computer or tablet will connect automatically to your internet without a pass code/key code/password. it has nothing to do with Win 8.

When I set up our computer one of the first screens was asking for my internet key code so that it could download info from Microsoft and HP.

tinkys yes we are connected I had no problems we have a wireless router it recognized our user name and I just had to type in our password.

I'm sorry you are having problems like the other posters are saying check the back f your wireless router for your security code or who ever you have your internet service with call them tell them you got a new laptop and you can't connect to the internet because it keeps asking for your security code I'm sure they can help you. Don't give up this is a really a nice laptop I'm sure you will enjoy it as soon as it is up and running.
