Printing the last page first is printing properly. That way when it's done, the stack is in chronological order. When you choose to print something, a print dialogue box should appear. Select properties and see if there is an option to change how multiple pages are printed.

If you want to change the default settings of your printer, get into the control panel, devices and printers, right click on your printer, select properties and change what you want there.

Yes, I get what you said ( about the order of printing) ----except that I have gone into properties AND tools and everywhere else I can think of- it just doesn't have the option to change. Very odd- since any of the other printers I've had always gave options. Perhaps the software didn't install properly- and I may end up un-installing and re-installing.

Another way to only have one page of printing is to highlight what you want to print using your mouse then go to file and select print. When the dialog box appears, click on selection instead of page 1 to 1. It will only print what you highlighted.

Yeah, that sometimes works-- but sometimes they've got things blocked so you can't just print what you want. Sometimes it also doesn't tell you that it 's going to print 2 pages- I don't know why you get an option of how many pages to print and sometimes not- maybe depends on the site or the coupon- but sometimes the print box just pops up and no choice so you end up with another sheet with just a few unnecessary sentences --especially when printing coupons from stores.

Re: Oops, I Want to Keep Using One Note, but not in the Cloud

There are a lot of ways you can get it to print on only one page. If you change it to print 1st page 1st, it will still print 2 pages because that isn't the problem. You need to make the fit the page. With your browser open, go to file then page setup or print setup. The choice depends on your browser. There is an option to fit to page or you can change the percentage. If it's printing only one line on the second page, change it to 90%. As always, select OK or apply then print.

While you are in page setup/print setup, click on the different choices and see what is there. As long as you don't click on OK, no changes will take place. I also suggest you click on file, view, edit and tools and see what options you have. Every program I've used with Windows has a help section and it's also is a great source of information. It's one of the best ways to learn how to use a program and your computer.

I am understanding what you are saying, dgluvr. I like to control my printer from my printer program and the keys on the printer itself. It's one more thing I really hate about Win 8 and 8.1. The process I have to go through just to "scan" something from my printer to an email is ridiculous. This printer is set up with scan ability, but it won't work because Win 8.1 has taken over all scanning processes. Again, it took something so very simple and made it ridiculously complicated.

I'm not sure uninstalling and reinstalling is going to make any difference. I went through several hours with the techs on this and couldn't believe the difficulty level of simply scanning something to an email. It is an eight-point process where one even has to save the file to a directory before being able to then scan it. Totally ridiculous (and the techs think so too).

I appreciate your suggestions- you misunderstand that I am not totally new at computers-Or printers and while I have forgotten much, I have also learned much and took notes from a great tech at Dell who has since moved on--

I took apart a Dell desktop at times to get things working, adding memory, checking drivers etc.- but laptops- not going there!--And I've had hp printers (always) and only the wireless have given me problems so I am very familiar with their "programing and I think the software on these is the problem- whether it didn't install properly or I am missing something but since the properties section is displayed as well as "help"- there is nothing to tell how few or how many pages to print nor the order I want printed. I know about changing the browser settings as well.Their forums do not address the problems and I don't want to spend forever looking through them.

I DID send back that Dell that I had complained about running so hot- and I will continue the search for a new one while hoping that the one I am using will continue to hold out ( and it runs Windows 7-- Yea!) Perhaps by then they will have also improved on Windows 8.1-even though I was finally getting the hang of it. ( still didn't like it though) Just another gimmick to get people to pay more for a system that didn't need fixing.

Confession: I was in a store recently and they had some touch models on display-- definitely fun-- almost made me not hate windows 8. Smiley Happy

Since you need to learn something new, why not get a Macbook?

Ariane, in 8.1, where will I find the settings for One Drive? BTW I loved the ONENOTE 2007 for storing all web recipes, it kept all of them. I still like the complete version in my trial OFFICE. What is new, that I don't like is that you cant sent emails or email links from ON anymore, unless there is something I am missing.

Re: Oops, I Want to Keep Using One Note, but not in the Cloud

Hi Mindy – I use a Surface tablet so it may be a little different than on a PC but here is how I access PC settings…

Swipe in from the right side of your home screen. Click on ‘settings’. You should see a number of options for the screen you are on but in the bottom of this panel is a link to ‘change PC settings’. Click on it and you should see a list on the left showing a link for OneDrive. If you click on this you will see ‘File Storage’. This option allows you to shut off ‘Save documents to OneDrive by default’. That should do it. You will still need to delete the copy of your notebook from OneDrive.

Personally, I like having it in the cloud. I can access my notebook on my phone, tablets or anywhere I have an internet connection. I have been using OneDrive and OneNote for several years and wouldn’t be without either. I have a general notebook for sending info I want to save and have a separate cookbook notebook where I save recipes new and old. This is great if you are shopping and need to refer to a recipe! You can still email notes by opening the note you want to send then swiping in from the right of the screen and choosing ‘share’. This has an email choice. HTH!

Hmmm- do you have one? I've never even looked into them- I've only heard that they are expensive- and I don't have a lot of disposable income - You did mention you had a Dell- and that's what I've always had -from desktop to laptops-- it's hard to jump feet first into something entirely foreign.
