I think the OP is excited the printer is being offered right now for $80.00 with a reg. price of over $400.00.

Q's regular price is listed at $97- but they listed the retail price over $400! A 'creativity bundle' boosts it up THAT much ?? !

We were looking at it earlier, and they said it does NOT fax. You can, however, send a copy of whatever you would normally fax to someone's computer or iPad or iPhone. We're keeping our old one - it's an HP8500A and it works like a dream. Not buying. And I do feel that the price they are quoting is w a y out of line.

I think the retail price includes the cost of the software bundle they include.

That's the 'creativity bundle' I was referring to above- some of the software titles aren't even full subscriptions! The retail estimate is way too high.

printers, it seems, are being made to be disposable. last time i needed ink, i went and priced it out, and it was cheaper to buy a whole dang new printer than to try and feed that stupid ink in to an aging printer.

Epson had (has?) a $29 printer that guzzled ink- there was also a sensor that stopped printing when the ink reached a certain level in the cartridge. You ended up wasting ink! It would only accept Epson ink as well- what a racket!! My Dad was constantly buying ink cartridges- and he didn't even print that much!
