Not Tech Savy

I'm a dummy when it comes to computers, tablets, and anything electronic. I live in New York and was reading a newspaper (Newsday) where they rate different electronics each week. Today was "These are our picks for the top tablets running the latest versions of the Android mobile operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean". WHAT! I like to eat jelly beans and ice cream sandwiches but have know idea what they are talking about! Maybe someone can enlighten me. I know my Apple Ipod doesn't run on the Android system and don't know too much about this either. By the way the Sony Tablet S got 3.5 stars, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 3.5 stars, Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 4 stars,and Google Nexus 7 4 stars (this was out of 5 star rating). I'm sorry if this was too long. TIA.
