I haven’t updated to the Apple iPad 12.1.1 OS yet as I wanted to get any feedback here from anyone willing to share their experience.
I am giving my iPad mini to my daughter as I now have two of the new 2018 iPads that came out in March.
I have read some reviews online but I know I will get honest ones here before updating.
My iPads are running the newest 11 OS. I am 69 yrs old so do not plan buying anything new iPads for a long time.
I hope everyone has a safe and healthy year.

I just checked and my phone is 12.1.2 and my IPad us 12.1.1. That is strange. Are they just messing with me or is anyone else like that?
Anyway, I have not really noticed anything with the updates.

@jackthebear Thanks. Whenever I get give away of my iPads
I always deauthorize the computer from them and delete the iPad device from my iTunes account and sign out as well as my iCloud account, and Game Center account.I also turn off the Find my phone and sign out and turn off Facetime and iMessage. I don’t ever put a password on my iPads so that is good. Then I do an erase and reset. I guess even though it goes to a family member I like a clean slate when it leaves me. I also delete all the apps I added to it.
I learned the hard way about this as I bought a used Apple Macbook and the owner forgot to sign out of his iCloud account. Luckily he gave me his email and password to do so. Then I let him know it was done so he could put a new password and email back on his account. He was very honest.
I will post back if I do the 12.1.1 update. Thanks for your replies.

@Still Raining I just saw on the Apple support site that someone posted that exact question you have. It says 12.1.2 is only for iPhones and 12.1.1 is the newest for the iPads.

I also updated my iPhone and iPad to 12.1.2 and 12.1.1, respectively. No problems with either.

I have 12.1.1 IOS on my iPad and have had no problems.
12.1.2 is on my iPhone but no better connectivity. (Due to our overcrowded modem or ?)
Here is an article advising not to update iPhone to 12.1.2:
Yes, my iPhone connectivity has been adversely affected by the update 12.1.2, which is only applicable to the phone not the iPad.

I updated my iPad 4 mini and no problems. I am going to update my new iPads 2018 tomorrow. I shut off some of the things the update turned on -such as bluetooth. I only use bluetooth when needed. Some of the apps had Siri on and suggestions and I shut them all off. Sometimes updating turns things on.
Whenever there is an update the bluetooth usually is turned on.
Thanks again as I hesitated updating until my friends here helped me out. 😊
Update: I updated one of my newest iPads today to the 12.1.1 OS and no problem either.
Thanks again to all who posted back.

I’ve had no problem with this update.
One thing that the update is supposed to do is to let a side menu be pushed out of the way when reading Apple News in landscape. This new feature is missing. I notified Apple about it.
