I still have an old dinosaur of a TV (36") from many years ago. It is in my loft, so I don't know what I'll do when it no longer works as it is very, very heavy. My friend and I were much younger when it went up the stairs.

@hckynut

We buy all of our TV's from Best Buy - during good times we order on line and pick up, but I think they also have in home deliveries

You spent 3,000 buying a TV from a Home shopping network, you are brave, and hmm you should of checked elsewhere, there are much cheapers ones of the same size to be bought

 If there is a cheaper price on a 2020 Samsung Model Q7, with a 2 year warranty and delivered free? Give me the name of that company. Samsung has many models and a lot of retailers with older models, and they do not come with a 2 year warranty.

I know the models because I own 3 Samsung TV sets and keep up with each model/year and the changes. For anyone that buys an 82" TV and want to save delivery costs, unless they have a pickup truck, good luck getting it home.

Shoot me a name of the dealer so I can check it out, I may just buy one from them.

Wow, that's a big TV! I would think you'd need a big room to accommodate a TV of that size.

@Jordan2

With the resolutions of these TV sets you never have to sit very far away from them. Even my old(?) Samsung 65" I can stand with my face a couple inches away and see no pixelation. And these new Q Models have double the resolution of my old 4k.

If it fits in one's room,  that is the only criteria for watching it.

That is some amazing entertainment unit. Glad he got what he wanted - you didn't ask us to judge the price or value so that's your husband's business.

@AuntG i cannot understand your question correctly, I am sorry. But if you asked his work, he is retired Air Force, he was lieutenant officer when he retired.

Now he no works, he is at home here and as you the Americans say, he is couch potatoe (hehehe)

@hckynut We have an Oled downstairs and a Qled upstairs.  We thought we had a big den until we bought one too big (things look bigger at home) so we put it upstairs and got a smaller Oled for downstairs! Woman Embarassed

The big one is the football tv!  Woman Very Happy I have to  say I'd take the quality over simple size any day.

@AuntG

I have a 65" Samsung on a stand and I checked the measurement of the 82-85" TV sets, and even the 85" will fit just fine on mine.

There is no way I would mount any TV set on a wall. First, they are made to be watched "at eye level". not high above that level on a wall. 2nd, it is easy for me to me to move it whenever I wish. I have plenty of floor space and the only, maybe advantage, I see for hanging them on a wall, is lack of floor space.

@hckynut @AuntG  We have had one hung on the wall in our bedroom in our last two houses and it is great there.  A long dresser fits under it, so it really saves space.

My husband put it in, and it must be easy--he is a nerd not a carpenter!  Don't tell him I said that!  Woman Embarassed

It is sturdy, looks great and the wires are inside the wall all neat and tidy.  Since the bed is the only place it would really fit, it's good!
