Need your help regarding a good anti virus program

My current anti-virus is Webroot and it has been great and I have had no problem. I just got a notification that it is time for me to renew it. The cost for what I have will run around $65. My computer is almost 7 years old and really running rough. I don't know how much longer it will hang on but when it goes I will have to just use my I-pad for a while. My question would be is there another anti-virus that is not that costly and is decent. Cost is important to me right now. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
