I plan on getting I-Pad Air 2 for my daughter for Christmas and would like for it to replace her old laptop. Would like to get keyboard and I intend on ordering from Apple, but wanted to get advice from the experts here before talking to an Apple "Genius" as I am complete Tech "Idiot"... TIA for all opinions.

http://clamcase.com/ I own an iPad4 and use a ClamCase Pro keyboard. The four model is heavy. It is said the company has lighten this product on newer models. Ask the company how much the Air 2 product weights.

Advise you to NOT purchase the Zagg case where you snap the tablet in to the top and then the keyboard is on the other side with a hinge between the two. I bought a Zagg case at Best Buy and after 6 months the case cracked where the hinge is and came apart on one side. I brought it back to Best Buy and they replaced it with a new one. three months later the replacement had the same problem.

I've had a Zagg case for my iPad for 2 years and not a single problem.
