Need help finding the right mini tablet for hubbie

Boy, I sure could use your advice since I'm so not an electronics whiz! My DH is asking for a mini tablet for his b-day. He really wants it to play with the stock market & to keep track of financial things. The IPads seem kind of expensive. I read about the Nexus & the Samsung Galaxy & am going a bit crazy trying to decide which might fit his needs best.

Any suggestions would sure be appreciated. Thanks!
