Need advice on camcorders

Our latest one was a Kodak one we got here. It died. I'd like to get DH one for Christmas. I'm looking at the Canon Vixia R600. Does anyone know anything about this? It has pretty good reviews. Can you recommend another good one. The Kodak one we had was small and flat. It was WONDERFUL while it worked.

Truth be told, with smartphones not many people use camcorders these days. They're on the verge of becoming technological dinosaurs. Pretty much everything works well these days though and with an established company like Canon you should be pretty safe.

Most digital cameras also record HD video.  As posted, I wouldn't buy a camcorder unless you REALLY want one.  Make sure it's HD.
