@SilleeMee   I have finished doing all the updates but have not yet downloaded the newest version of Windows 10 Home which is available.  Did you install that? Any issues?

@PickyPicky3

Yes, I have Win10 Home installed on mine, no problems getting it. All of the Windows updates have gone smoothly...it's a miracle!

@PickyPicky3

The memory in that HP is expandable to 8G. I contacted HP to ask about that and they gave me a part number for the module. So I searched  Amazon and found a compatible one for cheaper. I haven't needed to expand my memory yet but maybe in the future I may need it. I can either take it somewhere and have it professionally installed or I can do it myself and save some money...I know how to do that sort of thing tg.

@SilleeMee

This is a DYI project. I found a a video " A beginner Guide to installing RAM in a PC".

HP should have a video how to open your AIO.

It really depends on the computer you buy.  AIOs are not designed to be opened by an owner.  If you have a tower, then it is easy.  It's one of the first computer DIY project I did back in the 1990s.

Thank you @Nuttmeg

I have installed a module inside an AIO before plus I have the written instructions, including diagrams, on how to do it step by step for my HP model. Looks straight forward.

@SilleeMee

This is a DIY project for a tech savvy person. I found a very good YouTube video detailing this job. I did a Google search "How to install RAM in a HP AIO".

This 13 minute  video will support the written instructions you have.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

None of the videos I've seen online so far do not show my AIO model. The model I have hasn't been out that long and I doubt there is a video showing how to access the memory module. IDK ...I've searched for a video several times and I still can't find one for this AIO I have. Feel free to look and if you find a video for the model I posted upthread, or a model with the same kind of case, then I would be forever grateful. Smiley Happy

I had a difficult time finding the written instructions for how to open the case for this AOI ...but I found it and that's what I plan to use.

This is a DIY job for a tech savvy person. There is a ribbon cable connecting the display to power supply.

After the main sections are apart  this becomes

a simple RAM install.

I'm very tech savvy and that has nothing to do with it.  Many AIO computers are very difficult to open without damaging the case. Apple iMacs fall into that category.   So adding memory can be problem depending on the brand of computer.  Same thing is true with notebook computers.

Re: Need Help About Buying a New Computer

I just wanted to say that whatever the O/P gets I hope that she will do the research online and take her time. It is always [ for me] very exciting and stressful to get any new computer device. Happy shopping!  And I hope everything goes well with your new computer.
