NOOK TABLET QUESTION JUST RECEIVED

If you bought the new Nook Tablet I have a question on the top I see a hole like maybe a earplug may go in but I also see like a piece missing in the frame looks like a V I don't know if it is a defect or it's for something could you check your Nook Tablet and see if it has that. I hate to return it hoping all Nook Tablets have it.
