@heart of savino

We currently are using 2 of our 3 Samsung TV sets. My Internet Provider is CenturyLink and we have a DSL. It is the fastest speed available where we live and is 20mbps.

Both TV sets we are using are smart ones. Bedroom is 40" and patio room is a curved 4k 65" set. Have never had any problems with wifi connection, per se'. Have however had a rare problem with my IP, and have had to "reset or unplug" the modem to restore my internet.

I have had 5 Samsung smart TV sets and not had a single problem with any of them. Also have 2 Blu-ray Samsung DVD players, both using wifi without a problem. Samsung has treated me well with every electronic bearing their name.

If wifi is a problem it generally is not the DVD or the TV. More likely it is in the setup of the modem or router.

I'm surprised to see bad reviews on anything Samsung.   But having to reset could be more of an issue with the modem than the TV, unless the TV is incompatible.   Where are you reading the bad reviews?   if it's Amazon, take it with a grain of salt.    Go to a reliable review site instead.

I was always a huge fan of Sony, always purchased Sony electronics.

DD gifted me with a Vizio TV & I couldn't be happier.

I sometimes have to reset, but I had to do that with the previous TV.

My only suggestion is to do your homework & know what you are buying.

There are so many different models & variations today.

Samsung has a very nice picture, receives excellent reviews and you really can't go wrong buying one, but I only buy Sony.  IMO, they have the best picture and last for years.

They are more expensive than others, but in the past, they have had some models up to 50% off around Thanksgiving on their website.  You might find free shipping.

Google reviews for TCL. Best value smart TV.

Also consider Vizio.

@heart of savino   I have two Samsung TV's and am very happy with them.  If I had to buy another TV, it would be a Samsung.

I own a 65" 4K LG OLED...top of the line for LG but expensive. Don't confuse OLED with QLED, those are two very different kinds of technology. You can look that up. But I will say that my LG is the best TV I ever owned and it has the best picture I've ever seen on a TV. My other smaller 43" TV is a TCL and that, too, is an outstanding TV. In fact I would be more tempted to purchase another TCL before another LG. TCL is so much more affordable and now I'm waiting for their 8K sets to come out so maybe then it will be something I could afford to buy....coming in 2020.

@queendivaWe are quite happy with our TCL 40" with roku that we purchased this summer . Very easy set up and only one control for antenna tv and Roku stations . We bought it at Walmart at a reasonable price.

Regarding Vizio I have never owned one but helped a friend several years ago with contacting cs and they were terrific .
