@jellyBEAN What did you end up getting?  I'm looking at getting a new personal laptop.  I know HSN and QVC have had some great deals on ones with 4gb of RAM but a techie friend told me he would suggest no less than 8gb of RAM.  My work laptop has 16gb.  I'd love a 17.3" but when I look at onces that have touchscreen, backlit keyboard and some other things, they can get pretty pricey.  And Best Buy and other retailers all charge extra for Office, whether it be Home or 365.  Considering a 15.6" as well.

Go to Best Buy and ask what's best for you. They also have the Geek Squad available to help if you need help with the printer. I would never ever buy any electronics from QVC. They have yesterdays technology today. Old outdated, to many accessories you don't need etc.

Your right, Best Buy is indeed the best place, a good Sales Associate will ask what you normally use your computer for and advise you accordingly....but watch out sometimes they try to push "off brands"....stick with the  trusted brands.....

Years and years ago I bought a laptop from QVC and had nothing but problems....Brand new out of the box didnt work, 3 home visits from QVC Tech Support contractor couldn't fix it, they instructed me to ship it to a designated QVC Support Repair Place, and it came back even worse....they reluctantly agreed to send a replacement....WHAT A HASSLE!! I now go to Best Buy and get a new WORKING laptop....IMAGINE THAT!!!

I buy my laptops directly from the manufacturer. Then I can customize it with a different processor or add more memory.

Best Buy has become a joke where I live. There's never enough employees. And they basically read what's on the spec sheet for electronics, and have no additional knowledge.

Best Buy is very good where I live...and they employ sufficient staff, very helpful and knowledgeable too....On another post you said you are in AZ, and I'm in Texas....location makes a difference...

For anyone interested--if you aren't then this isn't for you--I can attest to the fact that since 2011 MacAir has been my lightweight, do anything, go to computer. Light weight, resonsive, wonderful machine.

They are on sale a lot now, an older model is fine, and you probably don't want one loaded with so much storage and memory, prices are good.  I'd trust a refurbished one from Apple.

Whatever you get, happy computing!  I hope it goes smoothly.
