Does anyone know why an iPad would freeze up. I have held both buttons down and it unfreezes but then it will do it again. I have even deleted all sites accessed. Is their a solution? Thank you.

It is unusual for this to be happening. Make an appointment at your local Apple store and I would bet they exchange it for you. Good luck! :-)

Mine does it occasionally.... if I just shut it down and reboot it is fine.

I have a 2 that is upgraded to iOS7. Techie son thinks it freezes because it can't keep up with the new OS. It also freezes up all the time. Does your screen come right back to where it was before it froze?

Is it the original ipad, or 2 or 3? If it's the original ipad time to upgrade to a newer one...it's already out of date; if it's a 2 or 3, check your router--may not be strong enough for all the devices you might be running in your household, as the previous poster said did you install the version 7 of ios? If not do that. If so, I would take it to Apple, I have a 2 and mine does not freeze.

http://help.apple.com/ipad/5/interface/ This link has been helpful to me for all sorts of things. However, try double clicking home button(square on outside border). A screen of small icons will appear at bottom. Click on each to delete. It will not delete from computer, it is just they are still running even though you are out of them. Also, clear out your history and any things still running in the bar at top. It is Just overloaded. Then restart if necessary.

We have an Apple Router so it shouldn't be that, I don't think. Mine is a 2 updated to iOS7. It is an "old" 2, bought the first day the 2 was available.

I had the original iPad and this was happening all the time.. Traded it in and got the air. Target gave me $200.00 toward the new purchase. I think that was a limited promotion but I think you can do it anytime at Best Buy.

I have an very old iPad (iPad 3) This just happened to me the other day. But only once. I figured it was the very old iPad not working well with iOS 7. I'm considering getting a new iPad version. Not one of the QVC new very, very old iPad 2s. LOL!

My iPad 3 locked up last night while opening Words with Friends. I couldn't do a hard shutdown or reset. I closed the cover, let it set for 15 minutes and it was fine. It almost locked up again this morning trying to open WWF. I think my problem is the app not the device.
