I chatted with APPLE just now and will add middle paragraph later from email when I receive it.
The parts that also apply to QVC and HSN are in bold.
The fact that all sites want a user to slow down and remain longer on their site causes our internet to disconnect because it cannot handle the “traffic.”
“Why did you remove the LIVE photo button from FaceTime in IOS12?
Can I get it back?
I am definitely upset about this!
Last night with the grands was a perfect time for a photo...perfect lighting perfect views of them while they were being still!
OPPORTUNITY gone! Gone!
ADD PARAGRAPH HERE
so far, I have sung the praises of Apple to everyone, including several forums. I am so disappointed! No longer will I sing these praises. I have lost faith in you.
Yes, articles have quoted Apple as saying their end goal is to have their users so reliant on their products that they depend upon them every minute of every day. Constantly messing with re-sets and reading about IOS updates (and so I can’t trust installing them then finding out I have been tricked) is just not fair.
What Apple may not realize is that EVERYBODY decided this was a good idea. Our schedule is so bogged down because of this that even
shopping online has become more difficult (internet disconnects). The purchase cuts out in the middle of trying to pay.”

@LTT1. I am an Apple MacBook user and I thank you for letting us know. It will be interesting to see the results. I don't let the updates from them load automatically since it does change things and in terms of technology I'm not knowledgeable enough to easily troubleshoot things like this.
And now that I'm retired I can't contact the IT support folks that used to help us at work!

Yes...
The IOS downloads are not set to automatically occur on our devices either.
[I got burned in the past by trying to install an IOS update on my iPhone 7 rendering it inoperable.]
So this mess up is my responsibility for not checking first.

Good thought I might try although once you go up a step in IOS operating systems, one cannot undo it.
i don’t think there is a method for that.

FWIW......
iOS = mobile devices
OS = computers
On Macs (computers), you can revert back to a previous OS.
What the OP is talking about has nothing to do w/Macs (computers), your Macbook.
As for phone support, you can get the same IT support at home that you got at work if you have AppleCare which is a 3 yr warranty on top of Apple's standard 1 yr warranty.

Thank you @Mz iMac Did not know the distinction. Don't have an Apple phone yet. That's down the road for me. I do know about the three year optional coverage with Apple and I did go to the Apple store when I purchased my laptop in June, 2017. Chose not to purchase at that point. Perhaps I should have. Both grown children are very tech savvy but I try not to bother them with this kind of stuff. I don't want to stop trying to learn about this stuff as it is good to at least try and keep up.
Now if you want me to write an excellent resume or business letter or do some kind of research on non-tech topics those kinds of tasks are easy for me. Degree in English from the dinosaur age.

We purchased the AppleCare plan for my iPad Pro because if dropped, the screen begins to crack just like a windshield ...little spider cracks all the way and every which way.
When we visit, the grands use my iPad so we thought it best to purchase the plan.
Have you ever seen a cracked screen on a phone/device? It is not pretty lol. Remember, I taught teens lol.
What is not so funny is that I FELL on the brand new iPad Pro last November so guess who is responsible for cracking the screen? Yours truly haha!
We have “chanced it” in the past and not purchased this plan. DH has dropped his iPhone several times on concrete but has an Otterbox case that has saved his phone every time!
