It is just a credit card size box and it works anywhere there is a satellite signal.I am using it right now. However, it does not have a lot of service , 5g, so when it is all we have over a few weeks we end up paying for overage. As for RV tv service we find most campgrounds now have cable.I'll be looking into mobile satellite too but that may be down the road.
I figure we'll spend at least $200mo on the internet while traveling. I hope I can find a pay as you go type so on the months we don't use it we don't have to.
My Aunt and Uncle noted that the pay as you go mifi are TERRIBLE. Coverage is awful and because they are so slow it cost more in the end.
They find they rarely go over as only need to use the data on their mobile unit when free wifi was not available.

Good to know. Thanks.
Eta: I think in my case I'm going to have to call out to my brother on the west coast to see what company he uses at the lake house and then make sure that company covers our little town adequately because both places are going to be tough to find good coverage for I'm afraid.
Maybe it's time to get my oldest a good smart phone and then get a deal that way. I hear some set ups let you use a phone for a hotspot or at least get a deal on them.

We use Karma. It's a pay as you go service so that you only use what you pay for. Works well for us when we travel. You can get it on Amazon.

Edit: you can go to the yourkarma.com website and check your coverage area

You have to buy a small device that allows you to receive Wifi. I have seen them at Wal Mart. Then you have to subscribe to the service such as Verizon.
People who do business on the road use these. I know a guy who has one and he said he gets signal on his laptop everywhere.
