I purchased a Mitsubishi 82 inch TV last summer with a 2 year extended warranty. It died a week before the original manufactures warranty was up, so we called to have it fixed. They balked but did get a new lamp to us. At that time we were told by Mitsubishi that we did not have an extend warranty with them and we need to call QVC because the Warranty was theirs. We called QVC and they told us that it was a Mitsubishi warranty. The Warranty letter says if we should have any trouble to call a certain phone number which was indeed Mitsubishi. After two weeks of talking to numerous uninformed Mitsubishi service people and sending in copies of the sales and warranty papers to Mitsubishi, we finally got a hold of someone who knew something and did agree that it was indeed a Mitsubishi warranty. It was an agreement made with QVC for the sale of that TV.

QVC was right on in their information to us but could not seem to help with the problem. We have requested that Mitsubishi give us another letter in writing saying that the letter that accompanied the sale of the TV was a Mitsubishi warranty. I doubt that they will follow through but I thought I would post this in the event any of you are having the same problem. This was not the fault of QVC in any way except that they sold the TV. I am sure they did not ever think that there would be any kind of problem with the warranty. I did notice that QVC does not have as many Mitsubishi TV for sale as they once did. Perhaps we know why.
