It seems to me that QVC buys old and kludgy technology> I would be careful.

It has the Minolta name, but it's not a Minolta. The name was sold to Elite Brands. Look up the YouTube video Minolta Cameras Aren't What They Seem!

Are camcorders still a thing? Surprised to hear they are still being sold to be honest.  I remember I bought one in 1989 when they just started coming out for $1100.00. The thing was so big you had to put it on your shoulder when taking movies. LOL!!!!!!!

Exactly. This happens a lot more than people think. "Oh, that's a good name camera." Well, it was twenty years ago, now, not so much. If you have a smartphone, you can get pretty much the same video quality, if not better, than you can from that camcorder. My $100 smartphone shoots in 4K while the Minolta only shoots in HD. I can put up to a 512 GB micro-SD card in my phone while the Minolta camera only has 32 GB of storage. Both have digital zoom which isn't as good as optical zoom. And it's bigger and bulkier than a smartphone and it only does the one thing while a smartphone does lots of things. It's one more thing to keep charged and keep track of when you can already have the same or better capability in a smartphone that you're carrying anyway.

That's an electronic name I haven't heard in decades.  My first digital camera was a Minolta.  It would have been in the 80s
