MY service runs out the first of December with Tracfone. I have the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro.

Don't know if I want to keep it and just do a service plan or get a new phone. I've had the LG before this one and the Samsung has way more features than the LG did.

Anyone out there that had the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro and went with a different phone that was better?

I don't want any kind of plan thru a carrier even if the phone would be free. Got away from all that years ago. Tracfone works fine for me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: May be updating cell phone

@crazy4bears   mine runs out july of 2020 as well. i was just thinking about this the other day.  why is the service running out? i forget.

i , like you, don't want a monthly service.  i am happy with my tracphone.

i have the same same samsung galaxy j7.  i'll probably just go with another galaxy whatever the newest model is.

i like them just fine.

Re: May be updating cell phone

I have the same phone. It costs 125.00 for a year of air time.  That's what I did last year. I found a forum called Adding Tracfone Minutes. Go to post #180 by Lizzy E. She explains how you can just pay 49.99 for a year. I did it a few weeks ago and it does work.

I have the same phone, which has served me well.  I can't imagine why I'd need to "upgrade".  It does everything I need and I get the $50 deal from TracFone.

I just got the LG Premier Pro lte from HSN for $59.  I had the Samsung G7 but I did not like it at all.  Took too many screens to get something done!   I am pleased, so far, with my LG.  The same phone is $99 at QVC.

Re: May be updating cell phone

I have a Tracfone Galaxy Grand Prime that I really like, but I rarely use a cell phone - just have it for outbound emergency use.  I turned it on today and it was not working, yet it is prepaid to 2021.  I went to the Tracfone site and it says the phone is no longer compatible with their system, due to updating of their system.  They will give me $40 off a new phone.  The phone is not that old! I feel like this is a rip off!  Anyone else having this experience?

@dotgirl

Here is the tip Lizzie passed on:

So you only need to add time.  I would suggest going to the website and click on shop, then on airtime cards/service plans, and scroll all the way to the bottom where it says smartphone add-ons.  Put the $5 for 1000 texts in your cart. I know you don't need any text messages but this is the least expensive item to add something/anything to your cart.  Then when you go to your cart you will see an add-on for 365 days of service for $49.99.  Once all the taxes are added, your total should be $58.29 for the whole year.  Hope this helps!  Let me know if you need anything else.

Edited to say: Maybe when you are at the cart it will let you delete the $5 text message item. Worth a try!

That's the post! You can delete the $5 text.
