Malwarebytes Help

I have been using Malwarebytes for over a year. Today I logged on and kept getting a message that my "trial version time" was finished. I have never seen that before. I uninstalled it; went to CNet and d/l the one that said it was a free version and am still getting the same message. I cannot figure out what I have done wrong, or have they changed their policy?

Help would be much appreciated and an alternate program as well. I also use MSIE which I like very much.
