@Icegoddess wrote:A biggie for me is that my Microsoft Word is not 64 bit. I think the only way to upgrade is to go to a subscription service. Also, my husband's printer is not, and a little app I use to do grabs off my screen, SnapNDrag is not 64 bit. My printer is, but I made sure it was going to be compatible before I upgraded to Mojave. Since I just upgraded to Mojave about a month ago, I'm in no hurry to upgrade again.
Someone mentioned older MACS. I think the issue there has to do with whether it has enough RAM. My husband's old MAC has not been updated past Sierra I think because he doesn't have enough.
ever thought about Google or Apple pages instead? once MS word went to the pay thing I bailed and there are other alternatives available

@jackthebear - I upgraded the system when it came out and did the update on Tuesday. No problems with either.

I made an appt with the Genius Bar to have them erase and install Catalina on my imac. Took 45 mins total time. So far everything is working fine.
The only problem I had once I got it home was to get the HP printer working. I went to the website to download the driver but for some reason the captcha part wouldn't work. The pictures kept turning blank so I couldn't select any boxes. After about 30 mins it finally behaved and I was able to complete the installation.

@frankenfinch You don't have AppleCare? I also have an iMac plus AppleCare. There is no way I will lug this thing to an Apple Store. A tech will come to my house to install if I so wish.
All desktops are entitled to FREE "home repairs" which includes upgrade installations if you have AC.
