I came here looking for sound bar advice. I'm not an audio file so I don't have a need for an over-the-top sound bar. We just bought a new 75 inch TV for our den and the new football season. We are upgrading from a 65 inch dinosaur.  We currently have Surround Sound speakers all around the 24x26 room.  I'm so over that after 23 years of sounding like I'm in a movie theater.  I'm not even looking at a 5.1 soundbar. 2.1 will be just fine but having a subwoofer built-in is fine.  I don't need a motion picture experience, I need a pleasant, clear audio that doesn't rattle the windows.  We can always upgrade to 5.1 if we decide 2.1 isn't enough.

Thank you

@monicakm @I just recently bought a cheap one from Amazon from a very off brand, but with super great reviews. It was about $50! It's amazing. I had bought a 32" Amazon Fire TV ($130), so for less than $200, I have an amazing setup for my home office. I still astonished at how little it all cost for such great quality. The sound bar was super easy to start (plug in). I'm looking for the brand name and I think it's Mzeibo.

Thank you so much. I currently have one in my cart on Amazon that is an off-brand for only $69 I believe. It has over 5,000 reviews and four and a half Stars. I've never heard of the brand. It's Majority with HDMI/ARC.  I'm such a believer in you get what you pay for, so it's hard to believe I'll like it or more importantly DH will like it.

This is funny, but as you are sharing about sound bars I just sold mine. I find that with a good tv I didn't use the bar. I just sold it on Facebook Marketplace lol.

You'll probably get several brands mentioned here. The market is flooded with soundbars and extra speaker systems for Tvs these days. I have my main Tv hooked up to a home theater system and it goes throughout the house if I wanted that. My favorite part about it is the subwoofer. Gives that deep boom sound and if I have it loud enough it shakes the house...LOL!

@monicakm  Do you belong to Costco or know someone who does? They have a reduced price on a decent Yamaha soundbar with built in subwoofer, ATS 1090, at a great price of $119.99. I have a slightly different Yamaha and am very happy with it. This model at Costco works with Bluetooth and has HDMI hookup option and built in Alexa.

I think it just depends on what you like.  The tv speakers are fine for me.  I don't have the need to feel like I'm in an iMax theater but DH likes the bass.  We've had actual speakers at the ceiling pointed down (5.1 system) for 23 years.  I hated watching tv in there and was always going behind the tv and turning the subwoofer base down (or is it up?)  He's happy with the sound of the new bar and it's on default.  Plus, I'm sure technology has come a long way in 23 years.
