Re: Looking To Purchase A New Tracfone

HSN has 15% off and free shipping on their cell phones.  There are numerous Tracfones, some are former Today Specials.

Re: Looking To Purchase A New Tracfone

I always buy my Tracfones from HSN as they seem to have the best deals.   I don't need the latest technology for the 3 or 4 calls I make every year.  I apply the minutes to my old phone and pitch the new one.   It's such a hassle transferring contacts that I only do it about once every five years.

John....can you tell me what the new operating system is, please?  Will be in the market in a few months....TY!

Sure can. The new version is Lollipop. Our tablet has the 5.0 version and I think there now might be a 5.1 version out.

The latest version of Android is Marshmallow 6.01. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_Marshmallow

I have a two year old Nexus 2013 tablet. Any tablet or phone carrying a Nexus name will always receive software updates.

Samsung smartphones from major wireless companies will receive maybe one or two updates, not a patch.

Samsung tablets may or may not get a major update of Android.

Marshmallow has a cool feature, built in power savings.

My current phone expires in 72 days so I'm thinking of getting a new one. I know the airtime card for 400 minutes (would triple to 1200) and 1 year service is about $100. I feel I might as well get a new phone for about the same money. I'm wondering which model to go with. Also, does anyone know if QVC or HSN will have a phone as a TTV or TSV soon?

Might check hsn. Was watching a DVR'd program yesterday and they had a 5.5" Smart Phone for under 100 bucks. Think it had 1200 of each and a year expiration. It has the older Android, Jelly Bean 4.3 system, if that means anything to you.

E.T.A.  It looks like this phone went up 10 bucks

HSN has some LG phones with Android 5.0. for a fair price.

Hadn't seen any of the electronic shows have a presentation with this version, I was not aware Android had already moved away from the Lollipop version 5.0/5.1. Seems like they usually get to " .3 version" before they change the 1st digit.

Appreciate you letting me and others here know about this, and I thank you.

Re: Looking To Purchase A New Tracfone

I went to CVS Sunday and bought a 60 minute 3 month Tracfone card for $20. The minutes tripled to 180 (I don't need the minutes). I bought it to buy myself an extra 90 days in case I find a TSV for a new Tracfone.
