My neighbor wants to get a new laptop it has to come from qvc because she does use ez pay she was asking me if she should get a HP or Dell I have no idea my computers has always been a HP never had a Dell.

Who is more reliable HP or Dell? I don't know what to tell her I know QVC is having a TSV on July 13 in computer shop I told her to wait and see if they have a computer as a TSV but it may not be a computer. If anyone knows what the TSV is for July 13 would you post it please.

I would buy an HP or a Toshiba laptop. If she wants a Windows 7 system Toshiba still does sell some. I have never been let down by Toshiba service or their prices on what they offer.

Easy pay is nice but you get more for your money by purchasing directly from the manufacturer site. You can just pay what you want on your credit card per month if you don't have a high interest rate. In the long run the interest you pay on your card will out weight the extra cost for added software you may never use or need. You should have 6 GB ram and a 500 HD and you will be good for the future. Photos or videos take up a lot of memory also. If you don't want to add software or lots of photos a 4GB should be good. I also love the Intel i7 processor as it is quick and doesn't bog down.

Square Trade Warranty can be found online and will offer you a guaranteed 5 day return after fixing or a replacement payment rate if your laptop can not be repaired. I have used their service before and they are excellent. Look for a coupon off at Retailmenot.com. sometimes there is as much as 30% off. There may be a coupon off on a Toshiba or HP laptop.

This is just my opinion as I have never been dissatisfied with Toshiba. Good luck.

Despite the fact that these two brands are SO heavily programmed by QVC they actually do sell other and better brands. Personally, I wouldn't spend good money on an HP or on a Dell... Your neighbor should really look at ALL the brands QVC offers, many of which have items on EP.

ITA that I'd look at other brands. Not only that, I'd look beyond the shopping networks to get better deals. The stuff they sell on shopping networks is over-priced.

You can get 6 to 12 months interest-free payments from most manufacturers.

We like Toshiba and have purchased a couple of laptops from their website lately with outstanding deals. Each time I got 6 months interest-free. You get a lot more and a lot more quality for the price at a manufacturer website, when they are running sales - which is almost always, than you could ever get at QVC or hsn.

If she only likes Dell or HP, they also have websites and she can do better there AND get payments. I've been seeing lately that QVC charges Intel prices for AMD processors and they pump them up with a lot of junk to which they attach inflated values to make people who don't research think they are getting a good deal. It's in her best interest to research. Smiley Happy

She should look elsewhere too and price machines without all the questionable extras that QVC throws in. There are other good brands out there and much better deals. Shop around.

I told her this morning you have to decide on your own I can't tell her if HP is better then Dell we always had HP I told her to check out other brands but I think she wants a HP or a Dell.

She only shops on qvc no place else. I told her to check HP and Dell website Best Buy Office Depot Wall-mart but she said I only shop on qvc so I said no more she has to decide.

I did check cnet & zdnet on reviews and some other computer website there are pros and cons on both HP & Dell.

I would buy the HP over the Dell. I have read the posts on these boards about all the problems they have with the Dell computers they sell on Q. We have an HP desktop & 2 HP laptops & our previous desktop was an HP. You can get a better deal some place else though.

We have always had HP computers desktops all in one we like HP I can't tell my friend where to shop I know there are better deals but she said she only shops on qvc and it is up to her where she buys her laptop from.

I told my friend to shop around but she told me she needs the ez pay. I know a lot of people complain about ez pay but it is her choice not mine. I bought a Christmas Tree on ez pay it sure helped us.

Hi Autumnsunset! It's too bad she won't shop around. I guess she has money to spare and it's not for any of us to dictate how she should spend it. I hope you take it in the way it was meant - just trying to help. Smiley Happy
