KindleFire (original) vs KindleFire HD

To any of you who had the original KindleFire and upgraded to the HD, is there a noticable difference? They had the 7" KindleFire HD on Amazon yesterday, 16gb for $135 (the 8gb is $139). I ordered one and gave mine to my Granddaughter. I didn't really feel the need to upgrade because mine suits me just fine, I'm just wondering if there is any difference, if you've had the opportunity to compared both. I couldn't pass it up LOL
