Kindle ?

My kindle arrived Monday. Is it normal for the kindle edition of books not to have the pictures that were in the regular book edition? I mainly read memoirs and I enjoy looking at the pictures that the authors always put in the middle of their books.

Before my kindle arrived, I ordered a memoir. Tonight I went through every page of the book on my kindle, and the pictures that were in the regular hardback edition were not included. I know for certain this particular book had pictures as I flipped through it at the store earlier this month. Is this normal?
