Kindle Fire name and password

I wanted to pass on a couple of suggestions for the Kindle Fire/Kindle I read elsewhere. The first is to set up a password so if the Kindle is lost or stolen no one else will have access to the 1 click purchase. On the Fire go to the gear button in the upper right, click, get the menu (volume, brightness, Wi-Fi, syn and +More), click on the + and a new Settings window opens. Go down the list to security, click, turn on lock screen password and type in the password you choose. It's a pain to have to type in a password each time, but it would be more trouble if someone got the Kindle and started ordering on your account. Or kids in the house started ordering games, etc., without parental approval. Apparently this happened quite a bit when the Kidnle Fire first came out.

The second tip is that you can change the Kindle name to add a phone number or email address in case the Kindle is lost and an honest person finds it and wants to return it. Go to your Amazon account to>Manage Your Kindle>Your Kindle Account>Manage Your Devices>click on the Kindle you want to rename>click on edit>type in cell phone number or email address. You will probably need to shorten something to get the cell number in. For example I have Slainte KF 1001001234 on my mine. I also have the back of the KF labeled. Can you tell I had kids who lost stuff all the time, so now I label everything. lol

I don't have a Nook, but I would think one could do the same on that device. I've been reading the Amazon Kindle forums where I've learned quite a lot about my new Kindle Fire, which I love.
