I've never used a screen protector for my iPad.  I have one on my phone but not the iPad.  I have a friend with one and it makes the screen look funny.

I've had my ipad since 2012! My hubby bought it for me - has been by my side ever since. You can do everything on the ipad that you can do on a laptop - it might take you a little bit to figure everything out, but it is well worth it. I do not have a hard case for mine, just a "book cover" type thing. I've traveled with it and never had a problem. Enjoy it!

Thank you so much everyone, i feel much more confident now, I know this wont collect dust. also, thanks for the screen cover input, I had a sales person tell me it very important. I will go to Office Depot and see what they say, too expensive to worry about having to buy a new screen. we are always bumping into each other here and I just do not trust it not getting knocked over.
