Go into your settings and go to keyboard. You might have to check the ""key repeat rate.""
I think that's what it's called.

I was having all kinds of problems with my iPad and had to reset it to the factory settings to get it to work properly.
Here's how I did it.
The first step to reset your iPad is to go into the iPad's settings. This is the icon that looks like gears. On the left-hand side of the settings, choose the General settings and scroll down the page until you see "Reset". This is the last option in the general settings.
IMPORTANT:If you do not want to erase any data you will want to choose the first option: Reset All Settings. This will leave the data (music, movies, contacts, etc.) but reset the preferences.
It worked for me. It didn't remove anything from my iPad, but I had to reset my preferences. My iPad works better and is just like new.

Thanks! I will give this a try when back on my iPad. I am on my HP computer now and everything works fine, so I know it is something going on with iPad only.
