Whoaaa....I never set it up this way and if they are connected I am not sure how, but when I got the phone you know how the google thing goes, you have to sign in to it. So, I signed into it and yes, my google profile pic comes up on all my texts. I have not run out of data yet. At the risk of sounding really dumb I am not sure when the tracphone goes into data usage mode, they have said so many things. I never use it to look at the internet much though, I have a tablet for that. Still I am hacked some where, maybe on google then?

@blankette, I am an iPhone user so I'm extremely limited in helping with other phones. Some things are similar, however... and I'm wondering if you have "Contacts" set up on your phone? If so, normally you -- the phone owner/user -- would be listed in the contacts. Also, do you use Gmail on your phone, and that's the reason you said you "have to sign in"? I'm thinking you set up a profile pic on Google, and if it's associated with your name in "Contacts" (which also would be associated with your Gmail on the phone) that's where it's finding the image.
Regarding the strange texts, @x Hedge had plenty of great ideas. I wondered, too, if your phone has preset keyboard shortcuts that might be involved. Or, if the phone itself has some hardware or software problems causing the keyboard (virtual or physical) to be activating itself. I'd love to know the answers to this haunting experience if you find them.

I sure will keep you posted. I have no pertinent info on or associated with my Google account so I am not ultra concerned. Short cuts sound very plausible, that came into mind , but I wasnt using the phone at all and now I can not even find where they are so it was certainly not a fat finger thing.
A few weeks back somebody in another city sent me a porn pic in the middle of the night. I looked up the # the next day and it was to a male escort service, lol. Nothing I can explain except he misdialed and I disregarded.I just want to be careful of a cyber hack or somebody doing this again to my son. it does lend itself to some possibly dangerous situations. Maybe I should get more concerned.

Cell phones can do strange things. My friend and I have eaten out every Friday for years now. Most of the time we meet at Subway at 12. One particular Friday she had cancelled since she was going to be out of town and heading home that day.
About 11:00 I got a text from her that said "I'll meet you at Subway at 12". I figured she had gotten in town early enough to go ahead and eat with me. So I got there at 12. She wasn't there. I waited around for a little while and then called her. She has the in car speakers (blutooth) so she answered my call. She said she was on the road and that she DID NOT text me. She never texts while driving and she would have no reason to text me that since she couldn't possible be there at noon.
The next time I saw her I showed her (on my phone) the text she sent me. It did not show as a sent text from her on her phone. We thought that was really bizarre.
Edited: To make it more clear.

@x Hedge On my phone it showed the text and it came from my friend's phone. When you get a text, it shows the sender. It did not show up as a sent text if you looked at her phone.
I didn't explain in full I guess. It didn't show that she had sent it by looking at her phone, but it showed she did send it when you looked at my phone.

@mima, long-press one finger directly on that text for access to check details. Specifically, if date/ time text was sent coinsides with date/time text was received. A text can be 'delayed'. It could be from another meeting, another week.
There is a way to send a text and make it appear it came from a different phone. Since nothing untoward happened that afternoon I wouldn't sweat it.

To Hedge- Oh really and just what makes you an authority on any of this. I have paranormal things happen to me on a regular basis that would make a normal person run out the front door so I am not looking for excitment on my phone which I do know how to operate, thank you.

That is odd Mimi, I find that interesting myself. People that just dismiss these things sarcastically just never have anything happen to them so they have to make other people feel silly that are sharing.
