BEST ONE YET - VIA EMAIL using my FB account email address (which I didn't even know I had that) t rec'd a very thorough (but lots of misspelled & misused words) from DICKSON, attorney from TOGO-LOGO Africa telling me I was entitled to 15.5 million and he was the attorney to contact him by PHONE immediately. My poor ole' rich relative died the same day my son was born, was from FL, traveled on a ship recently (which I did) and there was a horrible storm and he died along with 36 other passengers.

Very interesting, it had all my PERTINENT information from children's name, my surname, my b-day and Facebook information in the contents of the email. Anyway, I only had 24 hours to CALL & GIVE Dickson my personal banking information OR I was going to lose my big windfall.& he would have to move on to the next person with the same ethnic background, surname, etc....

So sad, we hear about this on the news everyday in FL about these seniors who are scammed into believing they owe $, their children (or someone close to them) are in jail & need $ sent to get out, they've inherited $$$$$ and gave them big lump sums of cash wired through the WALMART or one of those check cashing places called GREEN DOT.

SCAMMERS make me sick and really who thinks of some of this stuff....

This call is a scam and has been around for a year I know of. I received one. If you didn't know any better it seems like a real call But knowing that the IRS would never call, or leave a message like that is a tip off. Also, we never owe the IRS. If you take the number that called you off the caller ID, you will see it is a telemarketer call and it generates out of the country.

If anyone has questions about a call like this they should go online to the IRS and read about it, or contact an IRS agent from the number on their homepage

I got another Microsoft scam phone call last night. I told him this scam is old and everyone knows it is a scam. Of course, he hung up.

{#emotions_dlg.lol} When I'm home & on the computer when a call comes in I type in the number to search & see what it says. Most are scams. I don't answer the phone unless I recognize the #. Every once in a while when I'm expecting a call I do answer & if it's nobody I know I hang up on them. LOL!!!

definitely a scam.... The IRS always contacts you by mail....even when you are dealing with an identity theft issue....

This is definitely a scam. I work for an accountant and we have encountered this problem with many of the elderly clients. The IRS DOES NOT call anyone under any circumstances. The only way they contact a person is by mail. Please don't fall for this C---!

I too have gotten these calls and yes it's a scam. Report to local authorities. Make sure to get the phone number and the name of the person even tho Mike Johnson with a heavy Indian accent isn't calling from Ohio as caller ID says. It's fun to string these people along when they call and then they threaten to have the authorities at your door within 10 minutes of not complying..........this is the same as the computer scam.

I have received these calls and they are a scam. When they left the message and phone# I went to a scammer phone number site on the internet and it was listed and I left a complaint. Then I called the number, of course no live voice, so I left a message explaining I was calling from the Commerce Department about the complaints for this number as scammer calls from this line. I left a legitimate phone# from Commerce Department. Decided to give back a little fear to this scammer creep.....

I got this call last week and I ask them for their full name and said I need it when I call the police to have this checked out. They slammed the phone down. Scam for sure. The IRS doesn't contact anyone by phone.
