Is Microsoft Security Essentials really that great?

I currently use Avast, Superantispyware, MalwareBytes and Comodo firewall on my laptop, which is 5 years old and the battery pack is on its last cycle (no longer able to charge), so I need a new laptop. I was thinking about what security programs I would like to have on my next laptop and while I am happy with what I'm using, I'm also open to trying something else. Thanks for any info and advice.
