Ipod Touch/Itunes software update/HELP

I just updated my software in itunes. Bought some music, added to playlist, plugged in my ipod which updated and now I can't figure out how to add music with this new software. I used to see the ipod icon on the left side menu and then I would drag my music to it. Now the icon is not there.

There is an ipod icon on the top right with the little arrow to safely remove the ipod from the computer but I can't drag music there. Why or why does apple make everything so difficult?

Can someone put me out of my misery? TIA. LM
