Last night I was at the Apple Store w/ my BFF for a issue he was having. I casually mentioned I was interested in upgrading. Boom! I walked out with one of those bad boys!
It's huge (12")...and the keyboard is a pinch different. It'll take some getting used to, but I'm happy with my purchase at this time. I'm probably more excited it came with a longer recharging cord than the iPad itself!!
Just curious - how is the keyboard (you mean onscreen?) different?
One of the best Groupon Goods purchases I made was a 10 ft recharging cord. But right now Costco has a dual setup with cords to charge two i-devices at the same time, for only $25-30.

Here we go.
I placed my old iPad on top of the new Pro & took a pic w/ my iPhone for comparison. Of course the Pro has a drawing function, as well...how do you like your personalized pic?! Hee

Very cool, @sidsmom, thank you! Love the drawing (which I can't, more than kindergarten level) and signature with the pencil, and I can see that the new keyboard looks much more like a physical keyboard with more "normal" options. Does it still fill up half the screen in Landscape?
So far so good - that makes me more likely to buy.

Yes, in landscape its 1/2 the screen.
I was concerned if the screen is larger, will items be the
same small size but more items or
same number of items but larger font.
Answer....yes, both.
For instance,
Kindle app has same size but more (4 across, 5 rows) but
the Q Community board is same # of threads, but larger font.

I think that whether you get the iPad Pro or the iPad Air really depends on what you need to iPad to do for you.
You can end up spending a lot more money on an iPad Pro for features you don't need, so I'd come up with a list of everything you want your iPad to do and then see which one fits your needs.
The iPad Pro has a better camera, which won't matter if you don't plan on using it to take pictures. If you make a lot of videos or take a lot of pictures with your iPad (or want to), the Pro may be the better choice.
The Pro has much better speakers, but if you use a separate bluetooth speaker for sound, that's money better spent elsewhere, too. If you want to use your iPad as a multi-media center with great sound, the Pro may be a better choice for you.
The Pro allows for use of the Pencil stylus. If you want to write in the iPad or are an artist who wants to create detailed art on your iPad, then the Pro is definitely a better choice.
If you want to read email, surf the 'net, read books, shop online, etc. then the iPad Air is a more affordable option for those tasks.

Something to think about -
I personally would not want to buy an iPad right now unless I really had to because mine died. There will be new ones in the spring, and no one knows yet which prices of old models will drop, and which iPads will get new models.
If they stop making iPad Airs, buying what will be an "old" at that time iPad Air 2 won't be the latest technology, and with new models of Pros coming out (possibly in three different sizes), you would only have a Pro for a few months before it too wouldn't be the latest technology any more.
To me it isn't just new technology, either, but the older a model of an i-device one buys, it isn't that long before they labor with iOS upgrades and start to run just that little bit slower because the aging processor can't keep up with new software. One big reason I'd want the newest I could get (within 6-7 months) is that the newest run the OS the fastest for the longest.

@Lilysmom they are up to 10.0.2, with two mini-fixes, so should be pretty okay.

@Moonchilde, one of my seldom used email addresses apparently is not working after the update. It is the email associated with my internet provider. I am going to just delete the account and add it again. Hopefully that will fix it.
Need a day or so with my iPhone 6+ to work out the new things. Last night I couldn't figure out how to add a photo to a text. I was on the run though so I didn't try very hard. LM
