Ipad pricing

I need help in understanding the pricing for the Ipad. Not only on QVC but HSN and Shop NBC as well. I have been doing side by side comparisons for months, it doesn't make sense to me. If you go to the Apple site, you can pick up the Ipad for nearly half of what the shopping sites are selling them for. I know you get an accessories package, but it certainly isn't work nearly double the price. Can someone help me understand this, or tell me what I am missing?
