They don't show the earlier models specs anymore, because they are no longer offered to purchase from Apple website. But we don't know what model the poster is looking at buying. Although Apple is currently offering iPad 4, iPad Air, and the latest mini model, the poster can still buy ( for example) iPad 2 from other retailers. So I was pointing out, if the camera is the focus ( no pun invented) and ensuring you have the best, then you want to buy the most current model. But also keep in mind, the camera on the iPad and iPhone have always been great, so even if you go with an earlier model, your photos will be fine. Just not as good without the newer technology.
