If You Own a Garmin w/Traffic?

I got a preview email on the upcoming Garmin TSV. I'm in the market for a new GPS and I've had a Garmin which I like (DS now has it).

This one has LMT but the reviews on Amazon say the traffic feature has a postage stamp size ad that never goes away, only changes.

Question is, if you live in an area without the traffic broadcasts (I do), does this annoying ad still broadcast? I will only use the 'traffic' feature when traveling.
